Objetives

Its activities include the entire biomass value chain: production, characterization and transformation into bioproducts with high added value. The production area develops knowledge, technologies and applications in resource evaluation, energy crops, supply logistics, and pretreatments. In the characterization area, research is carried out on the physical-chemical and energetic characterization of biomass and its derived solid biofuels, analyzing the fouling, sintering and corrosion processes in boilers. In the production area, processes are developed to obtain bioproducts with high added value and the sustainability and techno-economic viability of the biomass value chain are evaluated.
