Point-Focus Solar Thermal Concentration Technologies
Contact person: diego cesar alarcon padilla
Objetives
It primarily focuses on tower technologies with central receivers, utilizing concentrated energy for the development of receivers for solar fluxes exceeding 1 MW/m2 with thermal efficiencies higher than 85% for temperatures exceeding 600°C. It also studies innovative high-temperature operating fluids for use in Rankine and Brayton cycles. Additionally, it works on high-precision heliostat fields with automated control for long focal length and/or high-temperature applications (up to 1200°C) and new plant configurations to maximize solar resource utilization.
