Objetives

It focuses on the safety assessment of radioactive waste repositories, with an emphasis on improving the understanding of the physical and chemical processes affecting the retention/migration of radionuclides in engineering and geological barriers and their thermodynamic modeling. Special attention is given to possible geochemical evolution and all processes that can influence the mobility of radionuclides, affecting the safety of storage, such as colloid formation, the presence of organic or inorganic ligands, or the alteration of barriers.
