Objetives

In the aftermath of the 1966 Palomares accident, it developed the Energy and Environmental Research Plan for radiological monitoring in the affected areas and carried out the Environmental Radiological Surveillance Program under the supervision of the Nuclear Safety Council. It also conducted the necessary controls to monitor the impact of residual contamination on the population.

Besides, the riverbanks of the Jarama River are also monitored.
