Terrestrial Natural Ecosystems and Climate Change
Contact person: maria rocio millan gomez
Objetives
It focuses on the role of soils in carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas exchange. It studies organic matter, the carbon cycle, nutrient cycles, and deepens the understanding of detecting and monitoring changes through the assessment of soil, microbiological, and vegetation parameters (variations and changes in temperature, changes in precipitation/drought patterns, increased fires, thawing, displacement due to invasive species, etc.). It also investigates soil and vegetation adaptation processes to climate change and their impact.
