Objetives
It focuses on the generation of knowledge in the conversion of wind energy through the improvement of measurement and modeling techniques of the wind resource, sustainable technological development including the testing and demonstration of both components and new disruptive technologies, as well as such as the development of advanced O&M techniques. The optimized integration of wind and hybrid systems in all types of networks (DC and AC microgrids) and with other vectors (Hydrogen, heat, water) will also be addressed. The aim is to provide wind energy with manageability through integration with short (flywheels), medium (Batteries) and long-term (CAES) storage technologies. The objective is to extend the use of wind power to more applications, make it more sustainable, increase performance, extend its useful life and reduce the cost of the energy produced. The activities addressed range from the characterization and modeling of the resource, components and prototypes to the design, simulation, control and validation of all types of wind systems, both connected and isolated from the grid.
