The objective of this line is to use solar energy to significantly contribute to the transition towards clean energy that protects the environment, especially in regions of the planet abundant in this resource.
Its research focuses on the development of technologies, processes, and devices that enable better harnessing of solar heat, both for its application in solar thermal concentration technologies (STE-Solar Thermal Electricity- or CSP-Concentrated Solar Power-) for electricity production, as well as for other non-electrical industrial energy applications, particularly desalination and water treatment.
