Abstract
In this report, the design and materials used to develop an automatic system to test ASICs are described. The goal of the system is to sequentially insert each ASIC in a test board and to place it later in a specific container depending on the test result. The main components of the system are three motorized linear guides produced by Igus, a suction system to stick the ASIC's packages to the robot, a servo to push the socket of the test board, a USB microscope to decode the QR printed on the packages and an Arduino Mega 2560 board to control the motors and the suction pump. In order to perform a general control of the system, a Labview program that communicates with Arduino and registers data about all the ASICs tested has been developed. It has also been designed a printed circuit board to easily interconnect all the system components. The system includes security elements as limit switches and one emergency stop and it is expected to be useful in ASICs test stages to be developed in the unit.
