Abstract
Large particle detectors based on liquefied noble gases, argon or xenon, are used in neutrino physics or dark matter search experiments. These detectors are of an extreme low background that demands the use of radiologically clean components. Platinum resistors (RPT), used as temperature sensors, are suitable for these detectors due to their low mass. This technical report describes the RPT electronic control module developed by Ciemat's dark matter search group for use in the DArT detector at the Canfranc underground laboratory. Design considerations, integration into DArT electronics, module functionality and calibration, and laboratory testing are addressed.
