Abstract

This document provides an extensive, but not exhaustive, account of some of the activities carried out in Spain within the initiatives in the field of small wind turbines. It focuses mainly on the activities developed during the 21st century, starting with the Singular Strategic Small Wind Project, which has been the largest state-funded initiative to date to promote innovation in this technology, which sought to promote activity in the sector and which, in fact, led to the greatest flourishing in terms of the number of companies involved.

It also includes research and development initiatives carried out by the main companies in the sector, financed mainly through international and European projects, as well as by some public bodies which, exceptionally, have also participated in projects related to this technology.
