Abstract

After analysing the current state of development of hybrid plants in Spain, their technological framework is established, before moving on to review some of the main research and development activities being carried out in relation to this technology. One of the areas of research is the analysis of the complementarity of renewable resources, particularly between solar and wind resources. The design and sizing of the optimal configuration of hybrid plants is another field of research activity analysed, together with the field of control: in order to manage the hybrid plant jointly, it is necessary to include different higher levels of control and monitoring. Finally, planning and regulation are key activities for meeting the objectives of the PNIEC, and therefore the current status of these activities has also been analysed.
